2baba opens multi-million naira studio at OAU

Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has planted a smile on the faces of students at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, especially those studying music-related courses.

The singer via his verified Instagram account posted a video which he used to announce to his 7.1 million followers that he had started a multi-million naira studio for the OAU Ile-Ife music department .

He further revealed that the next tertiary institution where he will open another studio will be at Benue State University.

2baba captioned the video clip which showed the studio opening as follows: “Some time ago I was honored by the Great OAU when I was inducted into the music school as a member of the music school.

“Today I just commissioned the multi-million dollar studio I built for the OAU Ile-Ife Music Department. The next stop is Benue State University.” (sic)

In March 2019, the Nigerian music icon received the School of Music Fellow Award from the Department of Music, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

The singer, songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur became the first recipient of the award presented to him at the department’s first public lecture and fellowship.
