Kanye West, whose highly anticipated and incredibly delayed album ‘DONDA’ was finally released last month, is already back in the studio, this time with Post Malone.
A video posted to Instagram by DJ Akademiks – aka Lil AK – shows the couple in the studio with Fleet Foxes songwriter and singer Robin Pecknold. Post Malone can be seen performing on “The Shrine / An Argument”, taken from the 2011 indie-folk album “Helplessness Blues”. Take a look below:
Pecknold further confirmed the gathering by posting a selfie of himself with Post, via an Instagram story, which has since expired but was captured at the time by Stereogum.. See below.
As of this writing, none of the artists have revealed any details as to why they were together in the studio.
Post Malone has been a die-hard Fleet Foxes fan for years, including Tweeter outside “if you don’t like to run away [sic] foxes then fuck you ‘in 2015. He then added another Tweeter: “fleet foxes is the only band I like every song.”
Last year, Pecknold revealed that the rapper was almost on his last album ‘Shore’: âHe came to the studio for a day while we were working in LA and listened to stuff and was very supportive of us. weren’t reunited in time because I wanted to get the album out quickly, but I asked him to be a part of it, he was down but we just didn’t have the time.
âHe’s a super nice guy, he’s a real gentleman, and he’s probably the best songwriter in the business right now. I think. And by a problem in the matrix, we have a relaxed friendship. “
Kanye West and Post Malone last teamed up on âFade,â a sample from Ye’s 2016 album âThe Life Of Pablo,â which also featured Ty Dollar Sign.
Speaking of the collaboration, Post said, âIt was the scariest experience ever. Let him listen to you record, when he’s sitting there and can hear you making weird noises – it’s intimidating, but he’s such a cool guy.
