Heidelberg School of Music & Theater offers a summer camp

Tiffin, Ohio— The School of Music and Drama of the University of Heidelberg is once again offering a summer camp for students in grades 8 to 12.

Campers can sign up for a residential experience or travel to the Heidelberg campus. Campers will have the opportunity to sing in a choir, play in a band and perform on stage.

Camp dates are June 5-10. The deadline to register for camp has been extended to Sunday, May 15. Residential tuition is $550 and includes all meals and accommodation. Tuition is $450 and includes lunch and dinner. All campers receive admission for two to the camp show on Friday, June 10, a camp t-shirt, and all session supplies as part of the tuition fee. A $50 deposit is due May 15th and the balance is due June 1st.

According to camp organizer Dr. Elizabeth Tracy, director of the Heidelberg Community Music School, the format of the camp is similar in design to an honor music festival. Participants will have the opportunity to customize their schedule by choosing up to two tracks from choir, orchestra, musical theater and theater, as well as a number of seminars to choose from. The camp experience will conclude with a performance at the Gundlach Theater on June 10.

Heidelberg music and drama teachers Jon Waters, Greg Ramsdell, Carol Dusdieker and Elizabeth Tracy will be the instructors for all classes and tracks. Undergraduate music and drama majors will serve as camp counselors throughout the week.

The registration deadline for this year’s camp has been extended to Sunday, May 15.
