Live Music Society announces Cat Henry as Executive Director

(New York, New York State – September 13, 2021) – Live music company (LMS) announced that Henri Cat has been appointed CEO of the nonprofit philanthropic organization, effective September 15, 2021. A strategic and collaborative arts leader, producer and curator, Henri brings more than twenty years of experience in the cultural sector to Live music company. She will be responsible for supervising LMS ‘ programs, establish partnerships and strategic relationships to drive growth and serve as a public champion for the organization.

As Henri begins his new role, Live music company is preparing to open a third round of grants to concert halls across the United States. Applications will be accepted from sites with a capacity of 50 to 300 from September 28 – October 20, 2021, via the organization website.

The organization was founded with the belief that music is central to what it is to be alive and will continue to champion the vital role that live music plays in thriving communities.

Henri joined Live music company from Jazz at Lincoln Center where she was vice president, concerts and tours. In this role, Henri handled all performance-related activities under the JALC brand, including the New York season at the Rose Theater and Call Room, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra world tour with Wynton Marsalis and the nightly sets at Dizzy’s Club . She launched and expanded the organization’s live and broadcast capabilities, oversaw the presentation of hundreds of the season’s performances, and extended the international reach of the jazz orchestra with tours in Asia, America. South and New Zealand. Before his role as leader, Henri has served the organization for over a decade as a senior producer and director of concert administration.

As a consultant, Henri has worked with clients in the arts and culture sector to plan and produce concerts and public programs. She is the curator of the Hudson Jazz Festival in Hudson, NY, and a producer for Restart Stages at Lincoln Center. Henri has served on selection committees for the National Endowment for the Arts, the City of New York Women’s Fund and the Global Leaders Program. She is a member of the NAS Executive Program in Arts and Culture Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance from The New School.

Since its creation in 2020, LMS is committed to providing $ 1 million per year in grants to venues that promote and preserve the live musical experience in intimate environments, where artists of all skill levels and genres debut, connect with their audience and pursue their career as performers. Individual grants range from $ 10,000 to $ 50,000. During the first two rounds of grants, Live music company has already awarded grants to thirty-six sites in twenty-nine cities for a total of over $ 1.2 million.
