Julia Fox claims she only has dated Kanye West earlier this year to get him away from Kim Kardashian amid their contentious divorce.
“I had this thought, and I was like, ‘Oh my god. Maybe I can get him out of the Kim thing,'” the actress said in a TikTok video on Monday after being accused of “dating a misogynist and anti-Semite notorious for his violence”.
“Like, ‘Maybe I can distract him, like, just make him like me,'” Fox added. “And I knew if anyone could do it, it was me, because when I make up my mind to something, I do it.”
The ‘Uncut Gems’ star, 32, explained that she’s a longtime fan of the reality TV star and sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian.
“When I had a fashion line 10 years ago, they would buy our clothes and resell them in their [Dash] stores, so I always had, like, a love for Kim,” Fox explained. “Like, the big three. Khloé, Kim, Kourtney, these are my girls.
The model, who dated West from January to February, also claimed not to have responded to the Grammy winner’s early romantic advances.
“He was texting me. I wasn’t really replying,” Fox recalled. “I was like, ‘I don’t really want to reconnect with a celebrity.’ Like, nothing ever comes of it. … They’re kinda boring, like, they’re not what you think they’re going to be.
However, Fox alleged that the 45-year-old called her and even yelled at her for having bad etiquette, which is when she decided to date the rapper to get him away from. Kim, 42 years old.
The record producer “wasn’t on Twitter” at the time and “didn’t talk about his relationship,” Fox told his followers.
“We only talked about clothes and weird ideas and plans for the future and our childhood and upbringing hopes and dreams and, like, it was really beautiful, guys.”
That being said, when West “started tweeting,” taking aim at several social media tirades at Kim and her then boyfriend, Pete DavidsonFox decided she “was out.”
She explained: “I had already said, ‘Man, I’m not going to stay for this. “”
While she initially thought she could help the “Stronger” rapper, she “realized pretty quickly that he wasn’t going to take [any] to help.”
Fox called herself “delusional,” noting, “I sounded almost as stupid as you saying I should have done something to stop it. Like what?
“It didn’t work out and now we’re here, but that being said, I really deeply respect the man as an artist,” she continued. “I don’t want to shit on it. I don’t want to reduce his whole career to his very bad moments.
The “Playboy” model ended things with West in February after nearly six weeks of dating.
Later that same month, she clarified via Instagram Stories that she “wasn’t in love with this man,” calling herself a “No. 1 hustler.
Fox continued tell ES Magazine in September that she is “proud” of herself to have stopped at the “first sign of a red flag”.
Since the breakup, West has been since discontinued by Adidas and temporarily started from Twitter on his antisemitic remarks.
Fox addressed the scandal in the conclusion of her TikTok, saying she “stands[s] with the Jewish community. Period.”
